Poem I ยท Sincerely, Serenity

Renata

A single pale bloom resting on cream linen with a small blank paper tag, evoking being named anew

I spent so long
wondering who I was,
where I came from,
and where I belonged.

I carried questions
no one could answer
and searched for myself
in the faces of others.

Then one day,
in the quiet of my heart,
I heard Him say,

Renata,
you are made new in Me.

Born again,
not into the life
that wounded me,
but into the love
that had always known my name.

No longer defined
by where I came from,
what I had lost,
or who had failed to choose me.

He chose me.

He called me Renata.

Born again.
Made new.
Given an identity
the world could never take away.

Not lost.
Not forgotten.
Not without a home.

I belong to Him.

Renata.

Sincerely, Serenity
